Program notes:

"Sur le chemin de la Memoire" is a concert march in six-eighths time.
It begins with a short introduction, a light first march, a brave second march, and then a beautiful melody in the middle section that contrasts with the first half. This melody is played three times after an eight-bar bridge, the second time with a birdsong-like counter-melody in the treble part, and the final march with a powerful counter-melody in the middle and bass parts crossing over.
There are no optional parts, but the piece was composed so that it can be performed by a small number of players.
