Osamu Takahashi
Born in Toyama, Japan, Osamu Takahashi graduated from Senzoku Gakuen College of Music. Mr. Takahashi studied trumpet performance with Naohiro Tsuken, Yukihiro Sekiyama and Sachio Hotokezaka. He won the first prize from both at 65th annual the Music Competition Japan and 13th annual Japan Wind and Percussion competition. Mr. Takahashi earned a job with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra but soon became the principal trumpet player with the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra in 1999.
Beyond the orchestras, he performs with various ensembles such as Tokyo Metropolitan Brass Quintet, Nagisa Brass Solisten, Trumpet ensemble “The MOST” and The Brass Principals Japan, among others. He also appears regularly as a guest artist at many music festivals such as Miyazaki International Music Festival, Kirishima International Music Festival and Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival, and was recently invited to be a jury member for internationally renown competition “The ARD International Music Competition”. Mr. Takahashi has released many CD recordings with solos and ensembles and teaches at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music and Tokyo College of Music.”
