Vito La Paglia, Saxophone Player, Teacher and Arranger

Saxophone player, Teacher and Arranger, he received his Bachelor Degree in Saxohone in the Conservatorio “A. Scontrino” of Trapani (Italy) with top marks and distinction under Antonino Peri’s guidance and, in the same Conservatory, he received also his Master Degree in with top marks and distinctions.
During his Master Degree he spent one year studying in the “Conservatorio Superior de Castilla la Mancha”, under the guidance of David Pons Grau and Antonio Felipe Belijar for Saxophone and Manuel Jesus Corbacho for Chamber Music, thanks to the Erasmus project.
He also received a Master from Alicante’s University (Spain) in musical pedagogy.
He attended masterclasses from many different saxophone players, such as Claude Delangle, Jean Denis Michat, Tomas Jerez, Fabrizio Mancuso, Mariano Garcia, Vincent Dupuy, Joonatan Rautiola, Antonino Mollica and Mario Ciaccio for the saxophone and from the Habanera Saxophone Quartet as a chamber musician.
He won 10 national musical competitions, as a soloist and as a chamber musician.
He is a founder member of Sax Solum Saxophone Quartet. He performed in Italy, Spain, Portugal and Netherlands.
He is passionate about contemporary music, he premiered, as a soloist and in many different groups (duo, saxophone quartet, saxophone ensemble and windband) many premieres of works from composers like Matteo Pittino, Federico Incardona, Dativo Tobarra and Felipe Garcia.
He performed many works with Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana under the direction of directors such as Marcus Bosch, Francesco La Licata, Carlo Boccadoro, Evgeny Bushkov, Simone Bernardini and Alexander Frey and with soloists like Stefano Bollani.
As arranger his works are published by the Japanese Publisher “Golden Hearts Publications”.
He is currently Saxophone teacher in middle schools in Italy.
