Mitsuhisa Nakashima
Originally from Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture, he graduated from Soai University's Faculty of Music, Department of Music, with a major in composition. He studied composition under Miki Naomi and Ogikubo Kazuaki, and violin under Ichiyama Nobuko.
His love of choral singing since childhood has been the driving force behind his current activities. In addition to two recitals, he has written music for children's choirs across the country. Past recipients include the All Japan Boys and Girls Choir Federation, Kure Boys' Choir, Hiroshima Jupiter Boys and Girls Choir, Ogaki Boys and Girls Choir, and Warabi Boys and Girls Choir, among others. In recent years, he has also been composing pieces for wind bands.
As the conductor of the Omori Gakuen High School Brass Band, where he has served since 2022, he has won three gold medals, including the top prize twice. His work, "A Journey to draw the treasure past and the future," published by Golden Hearts Publications, was commissioned by the Omori Gakuen High School Brass Band for the 2025 Wind Band Competition.
In addition to his composing activities, he is currently a part-time lecturer at Omori Gakuen High School and coach of the school's brass band club, a part-time lecturer at Rissho University Junior and Senior High School, and a part-time lecturer at Kanto Gakuen University Senior High School.
