Program Note:
The piece is for trombone solo. The motive is from Taiwanese pronunciation of "douhua" (tau-hue). The composer often ate douhua from the street hawkers in childhood, and reminisced the taste of hometown. The music begins with the fourth interval of the “tau hue”, the calling of a hawker. In this piece, techniques such as portamento, ornamental and muted sounds are used to play the different timbres of the trombone.
