"L’AMANTE GUERRIERO" by Cosimo Bombardieri won the Third Edition of the "Alfonso Perri Altomare" Musical Band Composition Competition (Italy). Also in first place was Giovanni Lombardi's "THE STORM," which was a joint winner.
This composition competition is organized by L’Associazione Banda Musicale “Francesco Curcio”and aims to promote musical research, enhance the tone and expression characteristic of wind bands, and enrich the repertoire of wind music.
The subject of evaluation for this contest is a band piece of 15 minutes or less, open to all nationalities and ages.
This year's contest received submissions from Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, United Arab Emirates, Philippines, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Poland, and the United States.
