Program notes:
This concerto is dedicated to my old car which I sold a few years ago, this music is meant to remember all the good memories and adventures I had with that car. The mechanic theme of the concerto is rendered by the Wurlitzer piano and its electronic sound while the various rhythmic modulations try to evoke the shifting of gears while driving.
After a short free introduction, the concerto follows the classical structure of having two themes that go through exposition, development and recapitulation. Like most of my pieces the style is very much influenced by baroque music: the keyboard playing should have a baroque taste to it (like a harpsichord). A little bit of distortion on the Wurlitzer can be added to showcase the more “rock and roll” side of the concerto.
