Program notes:

The title is taken from the poem by Fujiwara no Sanekata (*Japanese aristocrat and poet of the 10th century).
At the beginning of the piece, several motifs of the song are presented with a gentle melody. The music gradually thickens and leads to the Allegro. After a graceful middle section, the music becomes rhythmic and ends with a powerful coda.
This piece won the third prize at the Kawamoto Town Yuya Onsen Wind Band Composition Contest in Shimane Prefecture, Japan.
