Program notes:

Composed in 2022 as one of the pieces to be performed at a marching contest, commissioned by the Omi High School Symphonic Band in Shiga Prefecture. The title of the piece was taken from “Blue,” the image color of the Omi High School Symphonic Band. Because of the time limit and fast tempo in the contest, the complete version was performed for the first time in July 2023 at the 40th anniversary concert of the “Asakita Symphonic Winds” in Hiroshima under the composer's own direction.
Marches are usually written in two beats (2/2, 4/2, 6/8, etc.), but in this piece, the trio accompaniment is in four beats, so the entire piece was written in 4/4.
