Premiered on 23 March 2014 under the baton of Tsuneo Ogi, the orchestra’s then Music Director.\u003cbr\u003eThe work is not merely a celebration of the orchestra’s ten years, but also an expression of respect for those who have supported the orchestra, and a tribute to the climate, history and people of Sasaguri Town, renowned for the ‘New Shikoku 88 Sacred Sites’. Whilst I did not intend to depict specific scenes or stories of Sasaguri through sound, the piece may reflect the rich natural surroundings and the figures and heartbeats of people who, whilst quietly engaging with the ‘past’, are striving to move towards the ‘future’.
