Yet, the concept of oneness is full of divine simplicity which traverses through time and space infinitely. The piece begins with tone D and ends in tone A and for most of the time, various consonant intervallic materials are superimposed with each other throughout the whole piece. Most importantly, ostinato figures most often juxtapose with static consonant tones for generating substantial tone colors in different registers during the course of the piece. It was the center of the family and the source of livelihood. At the gathering place the tribe members sat around the fireplace and sang, symbolizing the continuation and prosperity of life.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eHarvest Festival: (measures 159-183): Praying for a good harvest in the coming year was done with singing and dancing. The more enthusiastic the celebration is, the more abundant the crops will be. Harvest Festival was the most important celebration for the agriculture based A-Mei Tribe. The alliance positioned themselves on land and water, fighting with few against many, and converging at the decisive battle site of Red Cliffs. In the end, Cao was completely defeated at Wulin, resulting in the three-way division of the country. Hakka Eight Tones is an traditional musical art form of the Hakka people, commonly used for weddings, funerals, and other occasions. Therefore its musical styles, performance forms, contents, and instruments possess strong characteristics of the traditional Chinese folk music. This composition is based on the traditional folk music, but develops into an innovative exploration with the Western musical techniques. Hakka Eight Tones is closely tied to social rituals, from welcome of newborns, marriage, birthday celebration for the elderly, to funeral. The progression of rituals, the gratification for gifts, and the celebration with music represent deeply rooted cultural appearances and social relationships, symbolizing the emotions and yearnings for auspice, heritage and ancestry. Hakka Eight Tones is often performed as background music. Although its music is based on a simple rustic melody, the performers often have ample room for improvisation. Once combined with Western wind instrumentation, the music is significantly diversified in tone and enhanced in volume. More room is opened up for exploring musical forms, textures, and dynamics. For the composer, however, it is quite challenging to resolve issues pertaining to tuning, timbre, balance and coherence. In return, this work is an \"Improvisation\" composed in about 1 hour in Nozomi 343, which was on the move on August 17, 2019, on the day of the 36th birthday of Shoichi Yabuta.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e“It's good to try to imitate the technique of a composer in one of the ways to learn composition, that is, to learn,” said Dr. Michio Mamiya. I express my appreciation for the music time that I had done with Mr. Yabuta, and I express my utmost respect for Mr. Yabuta's style. Based on Mr. Yabuta's 36th birthday, it is composed of 36 measures, followed by a time signature of 1\/4, 2\/4, which also represents Mr. Yabuta's life. In other words, I will compose 37\/4, the 37th measure in 2020. This is a work that suggests a dialogue between composer and performer.  The composition is based on the image that 1\/4 is 1-year-old Mr. Yabuta, 2\/4 is 2-year-old. It was a long time ago when I met him, so I wrote it with my imagination, but during childhood I focused on listening to the reverberation. Adolescents are particularly silent, and he continue to grope for who he is, and express his youthful passion with vigorous phrases for adolescents. I hope it will serve as a concert etude for vibraphone. The heart-shaped red beans are the seeds of Adenanthera pavonina, which is a tree growing in the southern part of China and South Asia. The poet extended the nostalgic thoughts on red beans to admiration and yearning for friends far away. Structured on the basis of fifth interval, the music proceeds with variations on the inversions. The accompaniment was supposed to be a piece on its own and it’s based on a sequence of chords that is repeated six times during the piece, with different articulations. It is based on the counterpoint of the two voices but I wanted to focus more on the effects created by overlapping and crossing between the two voices (hands) and in the final part I’ve used the sostenuto pedal (middle pedal) to achieve a very special kind of resonance. On the other hand, I was also looking for a new way, or, “future”, through those two “past”, “Oita Saigoku Junrei-Uta” and “Sakura”. In that sense, myself might be reflected on this work, and at the same time, composing this work may be my “Pilgrimage”.\u003cbr\u003e(From the Program Note at the first performance)\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIn summer of 2015, Hirohiko Tamura (an emeritus professor of Oita University) talked to me about sending my work to the group “Ibuki”, which is officiated over by him, so that my work would be performed in concert “Furusato Oita-no Hibiki”. The point of this concert is to show new arrangements of Oita folk songs and pieces which are related to Oita (Oita is one of prefectures in Japan). He kindly lent many data, and I looked for main piece. On this process, I was especially attracted by “Oita Saigoku Junrei-Uta”. This may be because I composed “Homage for Wind Band” in 2014. The stage of this work is Sasaguri Town in Fukuoka prefecture, which is well known by “The pilgrimage course of Sasaguri Shikoku 88 sacred places”. Nowadays, I don’t think many people sing this song. There was no sound source for reference, and there was only a transcription by a researcher. How should the song be performed? I made a large subject on myself.\u003cbr\u003eThe concert would be held in early spring. Therefore, I would have liked to put other element which we could feel the spring, too. Consequently, I chose “Sakura”, which is a popular folk song, as another main piece. And, on “Oita Saigoku Junrei-Uta” and “Sakura”, there is a common scale structure, “Miyakobushi Scale”.
