But, without the interaction with a woman, “Serina-san”, this work might be different.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAlthough I have the interaction with her, I have never met her, nor known where she is living. We were just using the same blog service (the blog service had been already terminated), and we read and wrote our blog, each other, and sometimes, exchanged some messages.\u003cbr\u003eThrough her blog, I noticed that she had an injury in her mind from her childhood. However, her poems and contributions to her blog about her daily life were full of “Gentle, and Soft Messages”. I recognized her strong feeling on “Life”, on her poems and contributions.\u003cbr\u003eThis work is my personal message to “Serina-san”, who kept sending “Gentle, and Soft Messages”, with “A Strong Will”, and who willingly accepted my use of her title of blog, as a subtitle of my work.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eFrom the \u003cspan style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\" lang=\"EN-US\"\u003ebeginning \u003c\/span\u003eto the end of rehearsal mark [D], main motifs are performed, and after [E], those motifs are developed. Quite simple structure, and I don’t establish any stories, especially. The title was changed to \"Lacrimoso\" in conjunction with this revision.\u003cbr\u003eThe work can be described as a somewhat irregular passacaglia. The theme presented by the double bass (from rehearsal mark [B]) is repeated, but this theme sometimes progresses out of \"phrase\" or disappears as the piece progresses (the theme itself is expanded and altered at the end). In addition to this theme, a secondary theme is also presented and transformed in the first half of the piece (this is presented before the theme. \/ rehearsal mark [A]).\u003cbr\u003eI do not intend to express any particular scene or story in this piece, but I believe that the structure of the piece can be read to bring out the emotions inherent in it.\u003cbr\u003eThe method of composition I attempted in this work has been applied to several of my later works, including \"Adagio and Allegro\" (2010, Saxophone Large Ensemble).
