We had just received an invitation to perform together and we soon realized that the repertoire for Soprano, Baritone sax and piano is very limited, so I tried to make something new suited to our style. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWith this trio I wanted to evoke the form and the style of the baroque “Vivaldian” concerto in which solo and tutti parts alternate. This is especially true for the first movement (Largo-Allegro ma non troppo) which follows the structure of any Vivaldi Concerto’s first movement: great care should be put in the performance to create an appropriate sound for the tutti and the soli. The second movement is some sort of Sarabanda without repetitions, while the third movement is more similar to a classical Rondo form. We had just received an invitation to perform together and we soon realized that the repertoire for Soprano, Baritone sax and piano is very limited, so I tried to make something new suited to our style. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWith this trio I wanted to evoke the form and the style of the baroque “Vivaldian” concerto in which solo and tutti parts alternate. This is especially true for the first movement (Largo-Allegro ma non troppo) which follows the structure of any Vivaldi Concerto’s first movement: great care should be put in the performance to create an appropriate sound for the tutti and the soli. The second movement is some sort of Sarabanda without repetitions, while the third movement is more similar to a classical Rondo form.
